7th Annual Baby Derby
Michael Jordan. . . Deion Sanders . . . Sammy Sosa . . . Venus Williams . . . and Carl Lewis. What do all these athletic stars have in common? They started playing at an early age!
So, we’re starting early in East Texas as well! Come out to the Pregnancy Help Center of Lufkin’s 7th Annual Baby Derby during the Texas State Forest Festival and scope out our future athletic stars!
Children age 6 months through 4 years will engage in a friendly racing competition that is fun for the whole family. Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and neighbors will all enjoy watching their favorite child race to the finish line in a crawling, walking, trotting or all out running race! Spectators will not only get a kick out of the adorable behavior of these future stars but they will laugh out loud at the antics parents will use to coax their child down the runway the fastest.
1st, 2nd and 3rd place trophies will be awarded for each division of the following categories:
- Diaper Dash – for crawlers up to 12 months
- Toddler Trot - for toddlers up to 60 months (1 - 4 years old)
Division 1 – 12 to 18 months Division 2 – 19 to 24 months Division 3 – 25 to 31 months Division 4 – 32 to 36 months Division 5 – 37 to 42 months Division 6 – 43 to 48 months
Additionally, a Grand Prize Package will be given to the participant with the most sponsorship collected and a Spirit Award for the family observed to have the most supportive cheering section. Make posters/banners, dress the whole family in the same color, make special t-shirts or find another creative way to express your support!
The fun happens on Friday, September 24th, 2010 with registration and heat assignment at 5:30 p.m. First race will begin at 6:30 p.m. and awards will be presented at the end of each divisional final. There is a $5 per child entry fee per child payable to the PHC. Please PRE-REGISTER www.choice4me.org. Visa & MasterCard payments are accepted.
